About Butterflowers Holiday Park
Tucked between the Cumbrian coast and the Lake District, Butterflowers Holiday Park delivers a spectacular seaside setting just a minute's stroll from a sandy beach. The small, intimate site – only 11-25 pitches – sits next to a café with views over an adventure play area, sand dunes and the Duddon estuary, half a mile from the fishing village of Haverigg. Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitches provide flexible options, and there's tourer storage for those who return season after season.
Outdoor pursuits are on the doorstep: hiking, golf, pony trekking, fishing and watersports all within easy reach, while Coniston Water lies under an hour away. Dogs are welcome year-round, barbecues are allowed, and pubs serving food are within walking distance. The site can feel a little basic in places, but for campers seeking unpretentious coastal access with quick runs into the Lakes, it's a hard combination to beat.

What visitors say
Quiet site, beautiful location. Some updating needed. Kids play area just outside site grounds. Shame pool is shut.

We have been to this site several times previously and have always enjoyed our stay however when we have been before it’s always been at the beginning or end of season and the sites been quiet. This was our first time at August bank holiday and the site was rammed. We had never noticed how close each pitch was to the next one until now. We also experienced people from other pitches walking through our area, even walking through us whilst we were eating around our table outside. No “excuse me “ just meandering through. Dogs were running around off lead, one escaped several times from its owners caravan and came over to ours who were on leads despite us asking the owner to keep it away. . The owner was asked to keep it under control ( not just by us) but they didn’t seem overly bothered . The shower block is getting decidedly shabby ( never been great) and it took ages to get warm water , not hot , for a shower. The people who run the site are lovely and friendly , we even got a phone call on the evening we travelling up on to check we were ok as there had been a bad crash on the motorway . Please note that the website still advertises that there is a swimming pool on site. In the 9 years we’ve been going it has never been open and it never will be. Sadly I think that this may be our last time at this site as unfortunately we’ve not enjoyed our stay as much as previous.

Butterflowers is a lovely campsite, caravans, and motorhomes only. Shower block, old but very clean, kitchen area with freezer. Swimming pool (not in use) on site, too. Beach opposite the site. Brilliant new obstacle course playground with zip wire etc and a little ones play park next to it that is gated, right next to the beach.Everything you need in the village, pubs, shop, chippy, PO. Farm shop up the road, HMP Haverigg is on the outskirts of the village and has brilliant plants for sale, huts, benches etc, they also smoke their own salmon and other things. They were on " The Hairy Bikers," showing them how they smoked salmon. Very nice helpful inmates that run the shop. They also do a brilliant car wash, and you get a free coffee while you wait, Don't be put off by it being a prison.

It's a shame the swimming pool is shut for good. Only londis shop open in village. Ski bar is brilliant. Really good food. Made our holiday. A few ladies struggling to use key code on their toilet block.
