About Harbour Lights Campsite

Harbour Lights sits just outside Haverigg with direct beach access and sweeping coastal views toward Black Combe. Pitches are notably spacious—choose from non-electric grass plots or hardstanding options with hook-up—and the site welcomes campervans, tents, motorcycle tourers and rallies alike. Facilities have earned consistent praise: individual shower rooms (each with toilet and sink) are kept spotless, there's a launderette, washing-up area and communal freezer, plus an on-site ice cream shop that proves popular after long coastal walks or kayaking trips along the shore.

The atmosphere stays peaceful even during busier periods, helped by the generous pitch spacing and the owners' relaxed, helpful approach. Dogs are welcome year-round, and there's a dog walk nearby. It's a solid, budget-friendly base for exploring the western Lakes—though some visitors note the gravel hardstanding can feel a little spartan compared to the grassy pitches—with excellent access to fells, wildlife-watching and the Cumbrian Coast cycle route.

Fabulous campsite. We went when it was almost fully booked and as campers with a tent there was so much space, not crowded at all and able to park the car up beside the tent. The bathrooms were clean and spacious with a shower, toilet, towel rail, sink and bench in each one. There were 10 shower rooms and never any queue. There was a small ice cream/coffee shop onsite which was handy for drinks. Great walks to the lighthouse and round the bay within a few minutes walk of the campsite. Overall it was very quiet, peaceful and well-maintained. Would highly recommend 👍🏼

Nice, large, family and dog friendly campsite with modern and clean facilities. The on site ice cream parlour, Riva Gelato, served up some of the very best ice cream we have ever tasted! There is a handy laundrette on site, a large pot wash area, 10 individual toilets/wet rooms which are great for families plus additional toilets. We stayed over a busy bank holiday week but the facilities were still kept clean and stocked. Some of the facilities were showing minor signs of wear and there's no denying this is a busy and bustling site but nothing that really distracted from our stay. There were areas of the site that were being renewed and expanded into new pitches so I fully expect the facilities will be continually updated and improved as well. Fire pits and BBQs are allowed if raised off the grass and there were plenty of bins all of which were general bins with the recycling sorted after by the waste company. There's no dedicated dog walk on site but with the coast path literally on the door step as well as the nature reserve (dogs on leads near the nesting birds obviously) it hardly matters. The real attraction though isn't the site itself, but the stunning coast and countryside that surrounds it. Sitting in the shadow of the brooding Black Clough and surrounded by the serene West Cumbrian coast, the entire area is stunning. The RSPB Hodbarrow Nature Reserve is fascinating and only 30 seconds walk from site. Equally awe-inspiring Ravenglass, Muncaster (and it's namesake castle) and Eskdale are within easy reach.

Excellent camp site on the coast, right next to Hodbarrow nature reserve. Definitely worth the walk along the sea defences to the hide to watch all the sea birds up close in the lagoon. The camp site has excellent facilities, friendly and helpful staff and large level pitches. Had a great couple of nights here.

Just spent 2 nights here in February in our campervan. Nice friendly staff. Location was good, with a short walk into the village where there were a couple of pub's, a chippy and a shop. The Harbour Inn serves so good beers, which we made good yse of. On site was very clean and tidy. They have recently built a new shower/toilet facilities which was lovely and warm, again clean. There's a good walk around over the sea wall which loops round into Millom, about 3.5 ish miles. There's a few more shop's and cafés there. Would definitely recommend staying here and will be returning.
