An old-world hotel on Foundry Square in Hayle, known for its Sunday roasts and handy access to Cornwall's beaches.

About The White Hart Hotel

The White Hart Hotel occupies a characterful old building on Foundry Square in Hayle, the sort of place with a lived-in, old-world charm and a scattering of curious artefacts around its public rooms. It's a comfortable rather than cutting-edge base, with some of the bedrooms showing their age, though all come with en-suite bathrooms, and family rooms are available alongside the usual extras like free WiFi and drinks in the room.

The restaurant is the property's strong suit, particularly on Sundays, when the roast beef and well-cooked vegetables draw a loyal following, and at Christmas when the same kitchen turns its hand to a full festive lunch. There's a bar on site too, and staff are consistently friendly and efficient, with a 24 hour reception on hand for whatever guests need. Breakfast is included as part of the stay.

Hayle puts guests within reach of Cornwall's beaches, St Ives and St Michael's Mount, and the surrounding area suits walkers and cyclists as well as those after golf, fishing or watersports. Pubs, restaurants and entertainment nearby make it easy to fill an evening without straying far from Foundry Square.

Real character, quirky hotel with excellent restaurants and pub bar. Great staff, very friendly and efficient. Rooms and furniture are very dated, but for me, the character wins out.

The White Hart has seen better days - and I think those days were a long time ago... The one good thing of note is that they have an incredible art collection throughout the hotel.
