Traditional pub hotel on Fore St, St Ives, with beaches, coastal walks and watersports all within easy reach.

About The Badger Inn

St Ives puts golf, fishing, cycling routes and coastal walking paths on the doorstep, along with watersports and a good spread of pubs and restaurants nearby, and The Badger Inn on Fore St makes a handy base for exploring all of it. The hotel keeps a traditional Cornish pub feel, with a garden and outdoor seating for warmer days and a bar that stays true to its country roots.

Rooms are comfortable and practical, with en-suite bathrooms, family rooms, accessible rooms and drinks available in-room. Free WiFi and 24 hour reception cover the basics, and free on-site parking is a genuine plus in a town where space can be tight.

The restaurant is a strong point, particularly the Sunday carvery and classic pub dishes, with a varied menu built on locally sourced ingredients and served by welcoming staff; some dishes can come out overcooked, so it's worth flagging preferences at the table. Breakfast is also served on-site, setting guests up before a day on the beaches or coastal paths that make St Ives worth the visit.

We had been to the Badger Inn a number of years ago. Being in the area we wanted to still see if it was any good. We were not disappointed. Staff were friendly and helpful. The pub was clean and well laid out. A really nice country pub. The menu and specials were really varied. Good choice of beers and wines. They are not shy on their portion sizes and our meals were well cooked and presented. We even had to try the puddings! Food is locally sourced and we even spoke with the man who had made our Key Lime pie who was having a drink at the bar. Really satisfying good quality food, brilliant and friendly service. Would recommend it to anyone.

We come here for the Sunday Carvery each time we visit Cornwall. Lovely pub to sit in for a beer or a wine. Whether that’s in the pub itself or in the garden. Service is great. Food is great. Trivial Pursuit card on the table for a bit of a quiz with friends whist waiting! Always book for a Sunday roast as it can get busy. Well worth a visit though if you’re in the area of St.Ives.

Last year I enjoyed the best thick cut ham sandwich I've ever eaten here so decided to return again this year during our annual holiday to Cornwall. What a fantastic pub, always a warm welcome from the owner and a lovely homely feel to the place. Lovely pub with plenty of character and a cracking beer garden too. I was intending to have another one of the delicious ham sandwiches but I noticed an open beef sandwich with fried onions horse radish and salad on the specials board so indulged in this instead. What a choice, beautiful tender beef and plenty of it on fresh bakers bread, had cheesy chips too and they were fantastic! Sublime pub lunch and we will be back when we visit St Ives again in the future. Keep up the good work mate, you've got an absolute diamond there.

Visited several times over 5 days on recent holiday. Never had a bad experience in 20 years and this trend continued. Several meals including Sunday lunches, lamb koftas and Ragu beef pasta all very nice. The staff are friendly and a credit to the pub. If your in the area highly recommend a visit. Nice beer garden also.
