Churnet Valley Railway

Super friendly staff all very welcoming. We went for a Sunday lunch and it was really lovely. Food was piping hot and plenty on the plate - all delicious and served with a smile. Reasonable prices for drinks that weren’t included with the meal. Beautiful countryside and a treat being pulled by a Steam locomotive. Recommend booking if you want a fab experience!

Visited yesterday for three course dinner and steam train ride. Booked this trip 3 months ago to celebrate my sons 21st birthday. We was not disappointed. The staff were very welcoming, the greeting before boarding the dining cart was a nice touch. The servers on the train made you feel special. The food was very tasty. Overall a very pleasurable afternoon. Deffinatley would book again maybe try a Sunday dinner or a murder mystery dinner.

What an amazing way to spend a sunny afternoon, this trip was a Birthday Gift and I can hands down say this was the best Birthday gift ever ! We had the 3 course lunch and a 2 hour round trip on an amazing steam train. I was actually taken by surprise how good the food was, as I wasn’t expecting much if I am being honest. Each course was served brilliantly the hot dishes were served piping hot and everything was of a good quality and very tasty too. Just one word of warning you may end up sharing a table with total strangers if you are a couple. Thankfully the couple we shared with were lovely ☺️

Had a joint birthday celebration on a murder mystery steam train experience this weekend. As soon as we arrived at the station, we were made welcome by all the friendly staff. Once seated in the comfy, old-fashioned armchairs in the Nicolas coach, we chose our drinks which were followed by a delicious 3 course meal. The staff were great! The food was delicious! Round of applause for the apple crumble! Best ever! The scenes across the countryside were awe inspiring! The murder mystery cast were entertaining and provided a very engaging, interactive, fun and immersive production! The shop in the station had loads of gifts and souvenirs. 10 out of 10... Would highly recommend this experience, and would definitely come again. Loved it!
