Hay-on-Wye sits three miles away, a town known for its bookshops and May literary festival. Walking distance brings you to country pubs for food and drink. The Black Mountains, Hay Bluff and the Begwyns offer serious walks for those who want them. Hereford city is further afield if you need shops or restaurants. The medieval Hay Castle makes a straightforward day trip.
Badgers Den is a single-storey barn conversion on the grounds of a working farm. Everything happens on one level: a living room with a sofa bed and television, a kitchen with a proper cooker for cooking from scratch, a bedroom with a zip-and-link super kingsize bed (convertible to two singles on request), and an ensuite with a walk-in shower. There is decking at the front with garden furniture. One car parks on site. The essentials—heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi—are provided. One well-behaved pet stays free.
This suits couples or two friends wanting to be based in one spot for walking holidays, a Hay festival trip, or simply time away from routine. No smoking inside.

Beautiful barn! So spacious, clean and had everything you would need (kitchen bits, toys for kids, yoga matts - everything). The grounds are beautiful, the barns are overlooking fields, so it’s so quiet and peaceful. The town isn’t far away either, there’s a few nice pubs / shops etc if you want to get out. Would definitely come back or recommend!

We stayed as a group of 5 and it was absolutely brilliant! The space is super modern and spacious with plenty of room for others to have stayed. The place is bright and clean and the beds were super comfortable! It was so nice to be able to eat outside in the shade in the evenings too ☀️ Would definitely stay again!

We had a wonderful stay and experience. The barn has been converted beautifully and is very clean. I had a reunion with my brothers and it was the perfect place to do this with a lovely garden for our children, hot tub, fabulous bbq and a great size kitchen. One thing we loved is the fact they had a big table inside and outside that seated us all when having our meals together. The amenities are great, with it ranging from towels, to dishwasher, washing machine/ dryer to EV Charger! 4 spaces for parking which was very helpful for us. Not to mention a tv in every room. Karina was great with checking in on us as well. Location is lovely and peaceful. You get the most beautiful views of a sunset from the back of the barn. Thanks Karina for leaving us a little hamper treat. The children loved trying the local goodies. This was a wonderful and much needed getaway!!

We’ve just come back from the most incredible weekend at Wye Valley View Barns, and it truly exceeded all expectations. We stayed in the Gathering Barn, which was perfect for our group of eleven girls celebrating my 40th. Everything was immaculate — spotless, beautifully designed, and finished to such a high standard. The rooms were spacious, and the bathrooms were absolutely stunning, giving it a real luxury feel. The hosts were fantastic from start to finish — communication was prompt, helpful, and very accommodating, making everything so easy to organise. We were also so touched by the thoughtful surprises, including a lovely welcome basket and a helium 40th balloons — such a special personal touch. We had the best time and made amazing memories. I couldn’t recommend Wye Valley View Barns enough — we’ll definitely be back!
