The borderlands between three counties offer serious walking territory. Stable Cottage sits among converted farm buildings at Mocktree Barns, positioned for access to Wenlock Edge, the Long Mynd, Mortimer Forest and Offa's Dyke Path, with Ludlow's medieval market town and castle within easy reach. The ground floor holds an open-plan living space with a kitchen equipped for real cooking, while upstairs is a bedroom with an ensuite shower. The cottage is yours alone, with private parking for two cars and an electric vehicle charging point on site.
Essentials like bed linen, towels, wi-fi and heating are provided. The property sits within a south-facing courtyard shared with other cottages, where you can eat outdoors in warmer months. Dogs stay free, and the owners maintain wildlife-friendly gardens across the grounds. A pub lies within a mile. The place suits couples or small groups wanting to base themselves for exploring the rural Welsh Borderlands, whether for serious hillwalking, birdwatching, or quieter days pottering through quiet valleys and country lanes.

What a gorgeous place. Like staying in your own little hamlet. Andrea was always on hand to help, although the only help we needed was that we wanted to stay longer. Everything on site was exactly as described, with the basics provided (appropriate cleaning products, linens etc) and the cottage clean, warm and comfortable with lots of charm. To tip: Vaughn’s in Ludlow for a takeaway hog roast lunch, with a bottle of local Fletchers cider from the market or brewery shops

Absolutely brilliant place and a nice location! we stayed here for 4 nights and enjoyed every minute! the host andrea is very welcoming and helpful and the cottage itself is nice and cosy after big walks in the surrounding areas! it's dog friendly and also as a ev charger! Couldn't find any faults 👍

We spent two weeks here and couldn’t have asked for a better stay. The cottage was just right for our family of three, and our three-year-old loved having the freedom to run around outside, play with the chickens, and explore. Andrea was a wonderful host, so kind, welcoming, and always quick to respond whenever we needed anything. All in all, it was a fantastic place to stay, and we’re already looking forward to coming back.
