Safari Lodge Two is a single-storey glamping lodge on the Darnells Luxury site at West Midlands Safari Park. You get three bedrooms—a double, another double, and a twin room with two single beds—plus one bathroom with shower cubicle and a separate toilet. The open-plan living space has a wood burner, a kitchen with electric hob, dining area and comfortable seating all in one room, so the layout works well for groups and families who want to be together or out of each other's way depending on the moment.

Electricity, bed linen and towels come as standard; there's also fuel for the wood burner to start with. The front patio has garden furniture and a barbecue. An enclosed garden on the site allows children and dogs to move around freely; a firepit and shared sitting areas are available too, along with a games room. One car can be parked in the allocated space 55 yards from the lodge, with additional on-road parking nearby. One dog stays free and must be kept on a lead. The property is non-smoking.

Bewdley is minutes away, and the Adventure Theme Park is close by. Many guests find the nearby safari park itself a draw, though animal sightings are not guaranteed on any given day.

Me and my family stayed in the elephant lodge Monday night. It was a wonderful experience. The lodge was very nice and being able to sit on porch and observe the elephants getting fed and just watch them going about doing what they do was amazing and there was many other animals in sight too notably zebra and ostrich. The food that was delivered was really nice. The beds were very comfortable good Internet connection so you can send family photos. An amazing experience all round.

We stayed in the Giraffe Lodge and, considering the price, we were very disappointed with the overall experience. The lodge itself was beautiful, but that was unfortunately the highlight of our stay. We paid a significant amount of money and only managed to see a giraffe for around 30 seconds late at night, which hardly justified the premium cost. Even at a discounted rate, these lodges can cost up to £1,000 per night, so expectations are understandably high. During our visit, several attractions and facilities were closed, including some theme park rides, shops, and face painting. This reduced the value of the stay, especially for families with young children. One of the biggest frustrations was the lack of parking near the lodges. Guests are expected to carry their belongings through the park, which is far from ideal when travelling with two young children and multiple bags. We were informed that staff would only transport “closed bags” to the room, not open bags. No alternative assistance was offered, and at no point were we told that transport via the caddy service was available if requested. At checkout, we found a route that allowed us to get closer to the lodge to load our bags into the car. Within two minutes, two separate staff members knocked on our door telling us to move the vehicle. Even after explaining that we had young children and were simply trying to load our belongings, no help was offered. Instead, we were escorted back to the front entrance. To make matters worse, we were later waved over and asked whether we had returned the key, which felt unnecessary and gave the impression that we weren’t trusted. When we asked why guests couldn’t routinely be transported to and from the lodges using the numerous caddies available, we were simply told, “You have to ask.” This was never explained during check-in, and when I mentioned at reception that I only had open bags, the staff member simply stared blankly and suggested leaving them there until I was ready to take them. Overall, the accommodation was lovely, but the customer service, lack of assistance, and limited attractions and the biggest factor of all NO physical sightings of giraffes in a giraffe lodge which left us feeling that the experience did not come close to justifying the price. I can only comment on the Giraffe Lodge, as I haven’t stayed in any of the other lodges and the experience may be different there. However, given the price, I at least expected some sort of exclusive giraffe experience, such as being able to watch feeding time outside the lodge in the morning. For the amount of money charged, the wildlife interaction was non existent. There should be at least a pre-warning when booking. We travelled 3 hours for disappointment. Our view for the full experience.

We had a magical experience at the Hippo lodge. It is a definitely one of the best holiday we've been in. The bunk beds were super comfy. We personally love the added Hippo furniture. They definitely took time making the lodge feel like we're in Africa.

Firstly I would highly recommend the giraffe lodges. We stayed in the giraffe lodge in May when the park was particularly quiet which for us was great as it meant the park was not busy at all. The reception team were great and very friendly. We spent time walking around the park before we checked into our lodge at 2pm. We were also given two day day passes for the safari drive but we decided to do the safari drive on the Monday when it would be quieter which was a good idea as on Sunday it was a quite busy. Our lodge was absolute amazing and was very nicely decorated and well themed. The weather was great as the giraffes were out and about until early evening before the keepers open up the shelter where the giraffes stayed for the remainder of the evening, although they were not locked away they could of come out at any point. They were back out the following morning from 7ish. A word or warning though if it rains the giraffes literally run for cover! The food provided in the lodge overall was good although the evening meal were quite small. Overall a great experience and memories that will stay with us forever

Guests mention the lodges are beautifully decorated, spacious, and offer amazing views of various animals, including giraffes, elephants, and lions. They also highlight the delicious food, excellent service, and the unique experience of seeing animals up close.

Some reviews mention animal sightings can be infrequent.
