Eastry Cottage is a stone terrace property in Castleton, a village at the head of the Hope Valley with Peveril Castle nearby. The ground floor has a sitting room with electric fire and dining space, plus a kitchen with oven, hob, microwave and washing machine. Upstairs are two bedrooms—one double, one with twin beds—and a bathroom with bath and shower. Everything needed for a stay is provided: heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi. A travel cot and highchair are available for younger children.
Two outdoor areas let you make the most of the setting: a front garden with seating, and a raised patio at the rear accessible by steel steps. The cottage does not permit smoking. Note that there are steps in the garden and the twin bedroom has a low door entrance.
Castleton draws walkers and cavers in large numbers. Show caves dot the area, the rare Blue John stone is mined only here, and Winnats Pass offers a strenuous walk. A pub sits within a mile of the cottage. The village has tea rooms, gift shops and a visitor centre; in December it hosts Christmas festivities. From here, the wider Peak District's walking routes are at hand.
