🏡 Self-Catering Cottage

Kinder Cottage

Hayfield village sits at the gateway to serious walking country. Kinder Scout looms above, the Pennine Way runs through, and the High Peak has trails for every level. The village itself has pubs within easy reach, and shops and cafés scattered through it. Kinder Cottage puts you at the centre of all this—a restored stone building that works as a proper base rather than a weekend retreat.

Inside, the cottage spreads across three floors. Ground level holds the main living space: open-plan kitchen, dining and living areas with a wood-burning stove, French doors opening to a patio. Upstairs are two double bedrooms; the first has an ensuite shower. The family bathroom has a bath with shower over. Downstairs, a study with a day bed adds a fifth sleeping space—useful for a child or for overflow, though it's open to the stairwell rather than a separate room. Essentials are covered: heating, electricity, wi-fi, bed linen and towels.

The kitchen is properly equipped for self-catering—oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine. There's a garden and patio with furniture, on-road parking, and room for a travel cot if you need it. No smoking throughout. Five people can stay here without feeling cramped, whether they're out on the hills all day or settled in for rainy-day board games.
