Moorecroft

Moorecroft works well for larger groups, extended families or multiple couples wanting their own space without splitting up. The five bedrooms and three bathrooms mean everyone gets a comfortable bed and reasonable privacy. One pet is welcome. You have the whole place to yourself, and the layout spreads across two floors with plenty of room to spread out.

The ground floor is open-plan living, with a kitchen equipped for cooking proper meals, a dining area, and a sitting room that opens to the garden. Beyond that are a games room (pool table, PlayStation 4), a cinema room with a 7-foot screen and Sky Sports, and a bedroom with bunk and single beds. Upstairs there's another living room with a 42-inch TV, three further bedrooms (one king, one zip-and-link double, one with two singles), and the main bathroom. Bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are included; heating runs throughout, with underfloor on the ground floor.

The heated indoor swimming pool (33 by 16 feet) is the real draw for families with children. Outside is a large terraced courtyard with patio and BBQ, and private parking for three cars. Buxton town centre is ten minutes' walk away; Pavilion Gardens and the Devonshire Dome are among the attractions nearby. The property does not permit smoking.
