Ten
High Peak
Ten is a terraced cottage that was completely refurbished in 2018. It sits on Market Street in the heart of Buxton, a Victorian spa town at the edge of the Peak District. The building itself is modest—just two steps up to the front door—but it's well-positioned for exploring both the town and the wider landscape beyond.
Downstairs there is a living room with Freeview television and a gas fire, plus a kitchen and dining space with electric cooking, a dishwasher, and a utility room containing the washing machine. Upstairs, two double bedrooms (each with a 4ft 6in bed) share a shower room; the second bedroom also has a single sofa bed for flexible sleeping. Essentials are covered: gas central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wi-fi are all included. Parking is available on the road or in a nearby public car park. Please note the property is non-smoking.
Walking distance takes you to Buxton's Opera House, Pavilion Gardens and Devonshire Dome. A pub and restaurant are 160 yards away; the nearest shop is a quarter mile. Beyond the town, Poole's Cavern and Buxton Country Park are accessible, as is the Victorian open top tram. Bakewell, Castleton and the historic houses of Lyme Park, Haddon Hall and Chatsworth are all within 30 minutes' drive, making Ten a practical base for exploring the Peak District.
