🏡 Self-Catering Cottage 🐾 Pets Welcome

Achd

This traditional detached croft cottage stands alone within its own fenced garden on the north coast of Highland, where sea lochs, mountains and empty beaches dominate the landscape. The village is a short walk away, but Achd feels genuinely remote—surrounded by the kind of terrain that draws walkers, kayakers and anyone who wants to spend days outdoors rather than indoors. Drumbeg Viewpoint, Handa Island and the sandy sweep of Sandwood Bay are all within reach by car.

Inside, the cottage has two bedrooms (both with double beds, plus a single in the second room), one bathroom, and a living space with a kitchen that has everything you need to cook properly—cooker, dishwasher, fridge, washing machine. The rooms have sloping ceilings and wood-panelled walls that reflect the building's age and character. An enclosed garden with seating wraps around the property, and there's parking for two cars on site. One dog stays free. Electricity, heating, bed linen and towels are included. Note that the cottage has a natural water supply from a borehole, and the stairs are steep and narrow.

The village shop, pub and restaurant are half a mile away. This is a place for people who came to Highland to be outside—the sunrises and sunsets alone make the journey worthwhile, but there are also munros, low-level walks, sea angling and boat-launching slipway nearby.
