Taigh Uaine
Highland
The Stoer Peninsula stretches into the northwest Highlands as one of Scotland's most remote coastlines, and Taigh Uaine sits at the end of a township road with the sea within a mile. This detached cottage was designed to make the most of its setting, with a layout inspired by traditional croft buildings—high ceilings, woodburner, and stone walls—but built as a modern property with underfloor heating from a ground source heat pump. Views reach across the water to the Assynt Mountains.
Ground floor layout means everything is accessible without stairs: two bedrooms (one with a kingsize bed, one with two singles), a bathroom with bath and shower, and a combined kitchen and dining space with a woodburner in the living area. The kitchen is equipped for self-catering with electric oven and hob, dishwasher, and full-sized fridge. Electricity, bed linen and towels are included, along with fuel for the stove. The cottage takes its Gaelic name—The Green House—from both its painted exterior and its renewable heating system.
Private parking is on site for two cars. The nearest shops, pub and restaurant are 8 miles away. No smoking inside. A cot and highchair are available if needed.
