What visitors say
We stayed in the Socach Pod and had mixed feelings about our visit. The pod itself is beautiful, modern, spotlessly clean and the hot tub was a lovely addition. The location is also great and it’s clear that a lot of thought has gone into the accommodation. Unfortunately, our stay was let down by what was, without doubt, the worst bed we’ve ever slept in. Every tiny movement caused the bed to creak loudly, meaning neither of us got a decent night’s sleep. Looking back through previous reviews, it’s clear that other guests have mentioned the same issue, so it appears to be an ongoing problem. We also thought it would have been a nice touch to provide a few long-life milk portions so guests can make a cup of tea on arrival. The nearest shop requires a drive, so it’s not something you can easily pop out for after checking in. The most disappointing part, however, was the lack of customer service. I contacted the owners directly about the bed over a week ago to make them aware of the issue, but I have still not received any response. Had they acknowledged the feedback or explained that they intended to fix it, I would have been much more understanding. Overall, the Socach Pod has the potential to be an excellent place to stay, but until the bed is replaced or repaired and guest feedback is taken more seriously, I can’t recommend it. It’s a real shame because the accommodation itself is lovely.

We had the large pod with a hot tub(didn't use on this occasion). The pod was spacious, comfortable and very clean. It had everything needed for self catering and I noticed a barbecue area for communal use. My only criticism was that there was no door in the bathroom which definitely wouldn't have been ideal for four people sharing-but I didn't like it as a couple either. The campsite looks out to hills and fields with horses in them. When I'm away I like to go out for meals and drinks but as an older couple, for us the location was too far from the village to walk(a twisty, unlit road) and there are no taxis meaning one of us had to drive to Bora so no drinking. Sid's Indian restaurant was very good though and we had pre- booked on the advice if the pod owners which was just as well as it was turning people away it was so busy. I would recommend the pods if you like solitude, just not for us

Very near the beach but the orientation of the pods means there is no view whatsoever just the entrance of the other pods. We booked for 4 adults for 3 nights and definitely not big enough. We were on top of each other, but perfect for 2 people. Very well equipped. The price would have been fine if with a view of some sort…

Booked this place for my parents to stay for a few nights as part of a road trip around Scotland, and they have not stopped talking about how much they loved it ever since they got back! It was by far their favourite of all the places they stayed during the whole trip. They loved how the site was setup with the communal fire pit outside, and well lit pathways to each private pod. The pods themselves were cozy, well equipped and very comfortable, with everything you could possibly need and more. The location was beautiful, with lots of scenic views around. They will definitely be back!
