Achnashellach - Achnashellach Bothy

You arrive at Achnashellach Bothy to find a sitting room with a working log fire at its heart, a dining table for four, and enough comfort to settle in. The kitchen, equipped for proper cooking, sits just beyond. Upstairs, a landing gives onto two bedrooms—one with a kingsize bed, the other with two singles—and a small bathroom with shower over the bath. Four guests, one dog if you bring one, the whole place to yourselves.

The grounds hold mature trees, rhododendrons and azaleas; deer pass by regularly and birds use the garden. A stream runs some distance from the property, and water comes from a well. There is a front garden with sitting-out space and furniture. Parking for two cars is on site. Essentials like heating, electricity, linen and towels are covered, and the open fire has an initial fuel load. Wi-Fi works throughout. Dogs stay free but must be on a lead outside—the wildlife that passes through needs protecting.

The location suits walkers and those after a quiet Highland retreat. No smoking inside the property.
