Rural Sutherland stretches out around At Last, a two-bedroom cottage positioned to catch views across the water. The north-west Highlands here feel genuinely remote—long beaches, dramatic coastline and moorland define the landscape. Sandwood Bay lies within reach by car, as do Oldshoremore Beach and Cape Wrath; the village of Kinlochbervie, a short drive away, has shops and a harbour where you can buy fresh seafood. Walking trails crisscross the area, from quiet coastal paths to hill routes, and the loch and river nearby draw people who fish.
The cottage sits on the ground floor throughout. Two double bedrooms, a shower room, and a living space with smart TV and patio doors looking out to the sea make up the interior. The kitchen is equipped for self-catering—oven, hob, dishwasher, fridge, microwave and washing machine all there. Bed linen, towels, electricity and wifi are included, along with a welcome pack. Outside, there's an enclosed garden with seating and furniture, a bike store, and parking for one car.
One small dog can stay free, though it must be kept on a lead—this is sheep country. No smoking inside. The setting suits people after proper quiet as much as those planning to explore; either way, the sea views and surrounding landscape give the place its character.

We stayed in the Whitebridge area for a few days and Morven was absolutely fantastic and so accommodating. She fit us in with her taxi service and went above and beyond in helping us retrieve some lost car keys! She was super knowledgeable about the area and had some great recommendations for us for our short stay.

My husband and I and two of our children in their early 20s, booked a tour with Highlands At Last for June 2025, after finishing a section of the West Highland Way walk. Before we travelled from Australia to Scotland, I was put in touch with Morven via our hotel in Fort Augustus to organise a tour of the sights between Fort William and Fort Augustus. Morven put together a great itinerary with something for everyone and was really flexible around our needs. She was very knowledgeable about the area and so interesting to talk to about living in Scotland today. We visited Glenfinnan Viaduct to see the Jacobite Steam train pass over, the Wallace monument looking out to Loch Shiel, Neptune’s Staircase, views over to Ben Nevis, the Commando War Memorial, the Well of Seven Heads, then on to the ruins of Invergarry Castle and finally the Bridge of Oich on the way to our destination of Fort Augustus. Our tour with Highlands At Last was a highlight of our Scotland trip for all of us. This is a great option for people who want to see these wonderful sights with a local specialist in comfort.

We were the first official customers to book Morven's taxi service last weekend and what a brilliant experience it was! A return trip for dinner at the Whitebridge Hotel (also highly recommended) from the Loch Ness Shores Campsite. Lovely clean, well appointed vehicle, great chat from Morven who lives locally and has lots of knowledge about the area and a safe and comfortable journey. Morven was very accommodating with pick up times and arrangements too. 5 star service and a great addition to the area we are sure!
