Dontra Log Chalets - Dontra Log Chalet 1

Built from timber in traditional lodge style, Dontra Log Chalet 1 is a detached property with a spiral staircase connecting two floors. The ground floor holds the living and dining space, a kitchen fitted for self-catering, a double bedroom, and a shower room. Upstairs, a second bedroom contains twin beds. The chalet sleeps four in total across one bathroom.

Essentials including heating, electricity, bed linen and towels come as standard, along with Wi-Fi throughout. The kitchen is equipped to cook from scratch. Outside, a lawned garden with seating areas and private parking for two cars sit on the property; note there is a pond in the garden. The chalet does not permit smoking. A cot and highchair are available on request.

Fort William's reputation as an outdoor hub means world-class climbing, skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking and walking are minutes away. Ben Nevis and Aonach Mor dominate the skyline. The Caledonian Canal runs close by, and ferries connect to Skye, Mull and Iona within short distances. A pub and restaurant are roughly a mile away; shops sit about two miles from the door.

Had the most amazing week in the log cabin, well equipped, clean and so wonderfully peacefully and just what the doctor ordered. The location is just great and to have a view of Ben Nevis every day from your front porch is not too shabby! Beautiful walks straight from the door to the Caledonian Canal and into Fort William approx 10 mile round trip. We have also had a week of wall to wall sunshine.. no rain! Had a complete blast this week.

Fairly sure we stayed here 20 years ago. Cabins were brilliant, just remember having to feed the electric meter continuously with pound coins. Hopefully these have now gone. Having said that I'd still happily return!
