Dontra Log Chalet 2 is a detached lodge with an open-plan ground floor where the living space, kitchen and first bedroom flow together, then a spiral staircase up to a second bedroom. The ground floor has a double bed and shower room; upstairs are two single beds. The kitchen is equipped for proper cooking, there's electric heating throughout, and wifi keeps you connected. Parking for two cars is on site.
The chalet overlooks a shared garden with sitting-out areas, and there's a pond in the grounds. A cot and highchair are available if needed. Essentials like bed linen, towels and electricity are covered in the price. The location is coastal, with a pub and restaurant a mile away and a shop at two miles.
Fort William sits at the foot of Ben Nevis and is the base for mountain biking, climbing, skiing and walking. The Caledonian Canal is accessible directly from here, and ferries reach Skye, Mull and Iona within short journeys. Red deer, otters, golden eagles and pine martens are frequently spotted in the area. The landscape has featured in major films from Braveheart to the Harry Potter series. Those wanting to explore further can reach Glencoe, Loch Ness, Inverness and Oban as day trips.

Had the most amazing week in the log cabin, well equipped, clean and so wonderfully peacefully and just what the doctor ordered. The location is just great and to have a view of Ben Nevis every day from your front porch is not too shabby! Beautiful walks straight from the door to the Caledonian Canal and into Fort William approx 10 mile round trip. We have also had a week of wall to wall sunshine.. no rain! Had a complete blast this week.

Fairly sure we stayed here 20 years ago. Cabins were brilliant, just remember having to feed the electric meter continuously with pound coins. Hopefully these have now gone. Having said that I'd still happily return!
