Ghillies at Riverside

Ghillies at Riverside is a handcrafted shepherd's hut in the Assynt area of the North West Highlands, near Inchnadamph. The whole space is yours alone—a single open-plan room where living, dining and kitchen flow together, with a double bed positioned to catch the view. A shower room and small storage area for boots complete the layout. The hut is small and self-contained, heated by electricity, and sits in a large private garden with a fire pit for outdoor cooking.

Access is via a 50-yard path along the River Traligill from your allocated car space; the river itself runs just five yards beyond the garden. The landscape here is dramatic—hills, lochs and moorland—and fishing permits are available locally if you want to try for salmon or trout. Wi-Fi, bed linen, towels and initial logs for the fire pit are all included. The property is adults-only and smoke-free. A basic kitchen (two-ring hob, microwave, fridge) means you can cook simply or eat out; there is no television. This suits anyone wanting real quiet and isolation rather than convenience.
