About Altnacealgach Motel

Kitchenettes in every room make Altnacealgach Motel a practical base at Ledmore, near Lairg, with just six rooms set against the surrounding lochs and hills of the Highlands. Rooms are kept clean and well-proportioned, each fitted with a fridge and kitchenette alongside the usual comforts, and many look directly onto the water and mountains beyond.

Downstairs there's a cosy bar and food that guests have been pleased with, plus breakfast available to start the day. A garden gives extra space to sit outside, pets are welcome, and free on-site parking makes arriving by car straightforward. Wi-Fi is provided free of charge, though coverage has been patchy for some visitors, so it's worth checking if a reliable connection matters to your stay.

The setting itself is the main draw, with the Highland scenery close at hand and Lairg within reach for anyone wanting to explore further afield. Staff are consistently described as friendly and ready to help, which suits a spot that works well as a quiet overnight stop or a base for a few nights taking in the landscape.

We booked two rooms while on a motorcycle tour around Scotland and had a fantastic stay. The motel was immaculately clean, easy to access, and very comfortable. The food was lovely, the bar was great, and we all had an excellent night's sleep. Breakfast was freshly made and a perfect start to the day. If you're doing the NC500 or simply looking for a great place to stay and relax, I would highly recommend this motel. A well-deserved 10/10!

Me and my husband Colin stayed for one night on our scotland NC500 trip. Lovely surroundings and quiet. Some say they didn't receive wifi but we did. The room was clean, decorated, fresh and had all the things we needed in the kitchen to cook a meal. We knew from all the information given that we could cook so brought food with us that we picked up knowing we would be arriving late afternoon. We brought pans etc but everything was supplied. Beautiful view from our room so we sat there with a glass till dark. So relaxing. The owners were lovely and friendly. There's car parking spaces designated to your room number so no worries parking. Would recommend stopping if you are going in that area.

Highly recommend. This was a ramdon pick for an overnight stay from Google maps on our trip around the highlands. Wasn't expecting much, but "WOW" for a small country Motel, it was fabulous. Craig and Sue welcomed us at the door. Food was brilliant for dinner and breakfast, small menu but to be expected for a remote location. Very comfortable room, clean, spacious with a view of the loch. Great water pressure, wife got to wash her hair. Great breakfast and fabulous coffee.

Stayed here last week whilst up in the area for a few days walking with a friend. The room was clean and had a well appointed kitchen. The views from the property were stunning. The bar was small but well stocked. The owners were very pleasant, courteous and happy to engage in conversation. Looking forward to going back later in the year. A little gem of a place in a quiet location.
