🏡 Self-Catering Cottage

Knocknahighle

Knocknahighle sits on its own track within Cairngorms National Park, five miles from Grantown-on-Spey. The cottage occupies a hillside position above Wester Lethendry Farm, overlooking open countryside that slopes away toward the River Spey. Medieval monuments dot the farm's upper ground—Lethendry Castle and Tower are within walking distance, remnants from the area's distant past.

The ground floor holds a triple-aspect kitchen and dining room with patio doors opening onto decking, where views down the valley stretch across fields. Beyond that, a living room with a wood burner provides a focal point for cooler evenings; there's a 42-inch television, Bluetooth speaker and soundbar if you want them. A shower room completes the lower level. Three bedrooms occupy the first floor: two king-size beds and one double. A bathroom with bath and shower serves them both. Essentials like bed linen, towels and wifi are included, as are logs for the burner and use of a travel cot if needed. The property sleeps six and is yours entirely, with private parking for three cars and an enclosed garden with outdoor furniture.

The cottage suits families wanting quiet countryside rather than attractions laid on. The Cairngorms offer walking, foraging and wildlife spotting on the doorstep. There's no smoking inside. The water comes from a natural spring.
