Kylesku Lodges - Ben Nevis

Photo: Kylesku Lodges

Kylesku Lodges - Ben Nevis is a single-storey property where the main living spaces flow together: a kitchen with electric cooking, a dining area, and a sitting room with a smart TV all occupy the ground floor, with large windows facing out across the Highland landscape. Three bedrooms contain a kingsize bed, two singles, and one single; there is one bathroom with a shower. A balcony with outdoor furniture extends the living space into the surrounding countryside.

The lodge stands in rural Kylesku on the northwest coast, roughly nine miles from the nearest beach. This part of Assynt has become a base for exploring the North Coast 500 route, which traces dramatic roads past lochs and coastal cliffs. From the village, boat trips depart to spot seals, dolphins and sea eagles. Walkers have access to nearby peaks including Quinag and the wider Assynt terrain. Electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wifi are provided; the kitchen is equipped for self-catering. There is parking for one car on site, with additional spaces available. No smoking throughout the property.

We absolutely love these beautiful lodges. The views are breathtaking with full length patio doors giving constant views over the loch and Quinag mountains. A lot of work has been done in upgrading the lodges, making them homely and warm, and just a lovely place to relax on the balcony after a day of exploring this stunning area. This is our 7th visit and I can't think of anywhere with more stunning views than here. Beautiful to wake up to and beautiful sunsets at the end of the day, just perfect x

This was my second stay at Kylesku, the first was in 2016 when I was spoilt weatherwise with a mini heatwave and gorgeous sunsets. Returning in 2025 to a refreshed and refurbished Lodge was a delight, being October the weather was a bit mixed with little wind, some sun and some rain. “Quinag” was perfect, a lovely large bedroom, plenty of space. The towels and bedding smelt wonderful, the lodge was clean and well equipped, can’t think of anything it didn’t have. Thanks to Karen for providing a wonderful lodge and the communication before arrival was great. Hope to return one day 😊

The Sconser Lodge we stayed in was immaculate and refurbished to a very high standard, the views were breathtaking and we were even lucky enough to witness deer on our doorstep. Overall a wonderful stop on our NC500 trip.
