Kylesku sits on one of Scotland's most dramatic coastlines, where mountains descend steeply to sea lochs and the landscape feels genuinely remote. Sconser is a modern lodge here, sleeping three across two bedrooms—a king and a single—with one bathroom on the ground floor. The open-plan living space centres on a wood burner; the kitchen has everything needed to cook from scratch, and there's a dining area for gathering. Electricity, heating, bed linen and towels are all provided.
A covered balcony faces out over the surrounding terrain, with seating to sit with a coffee or watch the light change across the water. Parking for two cars is on site. The property is non-smoking throughout.
This is a base for serious Highland exploration. Kylesku harbour runs boat trips to see seals, dolphins and sea eagles. The Kylesku Bridge itself is an engineering landmark worth studying. Assynt's mountains—Quinag among them—rise nearby for walkers of various abilities, and the terrain opens onto hidden lochs and coastal paths. A beach is nine miles away. The nearest town of any size is Lairg, inland.

We absolutely love these beautiful lodges. The views are breathtaking with full length patio doors giving constant views over the loch and Quinag mountains. A lot of work has been done in upgrading the lodges, making them homely and warm, and just a lovely place to relax on the balcony after a day of exploring this stunning area. This is our 7th visit and I can't think of anywhere with more stunning views than here. Beautiful to wake up to and beautiful sunsets at the end of the day, just perfect x

This was my second stay at Kylesku, the first was in 2016 when I was spoilt weatherwise with a mini heatwave and gorgeous sunsets. Returning in 2025 to a refreshed and refurbished Lodge was a delight, being October the weather was a bit mixed with little wind, some sun and some rain. “Quinag” was perfect, a lovely large bedroom, plenty of space. The towels and bedding smelt wonderful, the lodge was clean and well equipped, can’t think of anything it didn’t have. Thanks to Karen for providing a wonderful lodge and the communication before arrival was great. Hope to return one day 😊

The Sconser Lodge we stayed in was immaculate and refurbished to a very high standard, the views were breathtaking and we were even lucky enough to witness deer on our doorstep. Overall a wonderful stop on our NC500 trip.
