Lower Brae
Highland
Lower Brae is a detached cottage that has absorbed decades of craftsmanship. The owner, a joiner and carpenter who farms the surrounding land, has fitted the interior with solid wood doors, pine panelling and handmade kitchen units—details that give the place its particular character. The conservatory runs the length of the building and opens onto a lawned garden; the living room has views across open fields and hills, with a fire for colder evenings.
Three bedrooms sleep up to six: a double and bathroom on the ground floor, with a second double and twin upstairs. The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering, there's parking for two cars, and essentials including wi-fi, electricity, bed linen and towels come with your stay. An enclosed garden provides a private outdoor space. The cottage sits at the end of a quiet country lane in Strath Oykel, with the River Oykel—famous for salmon—just 200 yards away. Walking starts from the door, and the wider area offers fishing, outdoor activities and places of interest throughout the Northern Highlands. No smoking.
