Milton Cottage

Highland

Milton Cottage is a period stone building in Rosehall, a small village in the far north of Scotland between Lairg and the surrounding Highland landscape. The cottage has genuine character and sits on its own with space around it, including an enclosed rear garden with seating. From here you can see across village fields toward rolling hills. The property is privately yours for the duration of your stay, with parking for three cars on the drive.

Inside, there are three bedrooms sleeping six: a double on the ground floor, a double and two singles upstairs, plus a bathroom with bath and shower. The ground floor holds a sitting room with an open fire (logs included) and a well-equipped kitchen/dining room with electric cooking, dishwasher and washing machine. An adjoining utility room is useful for drying outdoor gear or storing fishing kit. Upstairs, a study provides quiet space. Electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are all provided, and heating is oil central. One dog can stay at no extra charge. No smoking inside.

Anglers are particularly drawn here; the Cassley and Oyskel rivers are close by, and hill lochs nearby hold fish. Other Highland rivers are within reach, though permits and costs are arranged with the owner. Beyond fishing, the location puts you central to exploring north Scotland easily—Dornoch is thirty minutes away, Ullapool forty-five. Families wanting a base for walking, exploring glens, or simply settling into rural Highland life will find the cottage well suited to that.
