Owl Cottage

A five-minute drive puts you at the beach; longer drives reach John o'Groats to the north, Helmsdale's fishing village to the south, and the Orkney Isles across the water. Birdwatchers find seabird colonies on the nearby cliffs. For those interested in prehistory, Orkney holds Neolithic sites including the Ring of Brodgar and Skara Brae. Inverness lies within reach for a larger town visit. Owl Cottage itself sits between these attractions, looking out across fields toward the Moray Firth.

The three-bedroom house sleeps six. Downstairs has a double bedroom with ensuite bath and shower, plus a separate shower room. Upstairs, two further bedrooms each contain a pair of single beds. The kitchen and dining area share a wood-burner, and French doors open onto a patio. A utility room holds a washing machine and tumble dryer. Parking for two cars sits on the grounds, and there is access to natural woodland. Electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wifi are included.

One dog can stay free. The gardens are lawned with patio furniture, though there are unfenced drops in the grounds. Smoking is not permitted.
