The crofting hamlet of Avernish, near Dornie and Kyle, sits on the edge of Loch Alsh with views across to Eilean Donan Castle. Pods on the Croft – Totaig occupies this landscape as a contemporary retreat for two people, built to catch those views from its decking and living spaces. The pod stands alone on the grounds of a working farm, with its own parking and shared garden furniture among the other properties.
Inside is a single open-plan room that combines living and dining, with a kitchen fitted for self-catering: induction hob, dishwasher, microwave, fridge and air fryer mean you can cook properly or keep things simple. A separate bedroom holds a double bed, and the shower room is compact but complete. Bed linen, towels, heating and Wi-Fi are all included. The property accepts adults only (no one under 17), and smoking is not permitted.
The surrounding hills and glens draw walkers, mountain bikers and wildlife watchers. The lochside and croftland support deer, otters and golden eagles. A short drive reaches the Isle of Skye and other Highlands attractions, though many guests simply stay put to watch the castle and water from the decking, especially at dawn or dusk.

We stayed here in 2022 and it was the highlight of our trip. We loved the pod and the views from it were amazing. We also appreciated Flora's information folder with knowledge for travelers. It was a great experience and we definitely want to go back to the pod again in the future.

We had a wonderful time on Skye, stayed in the Buzzard pod and have to say it exceeded our expectations! Everything spotlessly clean, amazing shower and the bed is so comfy. The Pod has everything you need without being cluttered. Flora has thought of everything and the information folder is so helpful. It is in a great location for getting out and about and was lovely having the open outlook yet having our own privacy. We highly recommend both the Pods on the Croft and Flora as she is a lovely hostess. We will come back! x

This adorable pod was mine and my partners favorite on our road trip. Flora was really welcoming. The pod was beautifully clean and tidy. It also has everything you could need. It was so nice to have a proper mattress and a duvet (rather than our sleeping bags), towels were also provided. The fridge, kettle and microwave were also great to have and Flora even left us some milk. The view is fantastic we loved every minute - would recommend 100%

Fantastic place to stay and Flora is the sweetest. Wish we had been able to stay longer! The pod was super cozy, had everything we needed, perfect location and gorgeous views. Highly recommend and hope to make it back again someday. Skye is gorgeous!
