Ballachulish sits at the western edge of the Highlands, close enough to Glencoe for a morning walk and within reach of Fort William's climbing walls and ski slopes. River Mill House is a substantial detached property that sleeps 12 across six bedrooms and four bathrooms, making it practical for large groups or extended families wanting to base themselves somewhere central to the region's outdoor pursuits.
The ground floor contains three bedrooms with single beds and a fourth with a kingsize, plus two more doubles upstairs. Four of the bedrooms have ensuite facilities. Communal space includes a living room with a smart TV, a separate dining room, a kitchen equipped for cooking from scratch with a gas hob and electric oven, and a utility room with laundry facilities. Bed linen, towels, wifi and heating are all covered. A large garden with seating areas and a BBQ hut opens onto countryside; there is an unfenced stream and pond on the property, which matters if you're bringing young children. The house has parking for three cars on site.
The Sustrans cycle route from Glencoe to Oban passes through the village. A pub is within a mile's walk. The area suits anyone wanting access to hill walking, mountain biking, climbing, kayaking or fishing without the need to move accommodation daily. No smoking inside the house.
