The Cottage is an 18th-century stone building, single-storey and traditional, which has been thoughtfully restored. It stands on a working croft in the hamlet of Braes, looking out towards the water with walking country all around. Everything is on the ground floor: a bedroom with a double bed, a shower room, a combined living and dining room warmed by a multi-fuel stove, and a kitchen with electric cooking. Bed linen, towels, heating and Wi-Fi are all included, along with initial fuel for the stove.
Portree, the main town, is ten minutes away by car and has restaurants, shops, a swimming pool, cinema and boat trips from the harbour. North of Skye holds the Fairy Glen, Uig Pottery and a ferry to the Outer Isles; further walks take in the Old Man of Storr and the Quiraing. West towards Dunvegan is the castle and Coral Beach; northwest are Neist Point Lighthouse, Glendale village with its own beach, Tallisker Distillery and the Fairy Pools. The property has parking for two cars and a garden with seating. There is a step in the garden. Smoking is not permitted.
