The Old Surgery

Kinlochbervie is a working fishing port in the far northwest Highlands, where boats come and go at all hours and the harbour dominates the landscape. The Old Surgery sits in the heart of the village with views down to Loch Inchard and the harbourside—a working part of Scotland rather than a picturesque postcard. The property itself was once the local doctor's surgery and has been thoroughly renovated into a straightforward, comfortable holiday home.

The cottage is arranged over one floor: an open-plan kitchen, living and dining space with Freeview TV; a double bedroom and a twin room; and a shower room. The kitchen has everything needed for self-catering, including an electric oven and hob, dishwasher and microwave. An enclosed rear garden with seating is useful for dogs, who stay free. Parking for two cars is on site. Bed linen, towels, electricity and Wi-Fi are included, and a welcome pack arrives with the keys.

The location makes a base for exploring this remote corner of the Highlands. Durness is 30 minutes away, Kylesku with its hotel and restaurant nearby, and Lochinver not far beyond. The NC500 passes just a few miles off. However, the village itself—watching the fishing boats, the sea views, the working harbour—provides reason enough to stay put. No smoking in the property.
