Watermill Cottages

Photo: Watermill Cottages

Watermill Cottages is a converted historic building on the edge of the village, within easy reach of the shoreline. The ground floor holds two double bedrooms—one with an ensuite shower—and a third room with twin single beds, plus a family bathroom with a bath. Upstairs is an open-plan living space combining kitchen, dining and sitting areas, with a television for quieter evenings. The kitchen has an electric cooker and microwave for self-catering; bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are included. Heating and parking for two cars are on site.

This part of the Highlands sits near the northern coast with access to coastal paths and beaches. The working watermill adjacent to the property opens to guests at no extra charge. The area draws people interested in wildlife—seals, dolphins, otters and seabirds are seen regularly along the rocky shore. Nearby attractions include Duncansby Head, the Castle of Mey, and Thurso and Wick for supplies and facilities. One well-behaved pet stays free. The cottage is non-smoking.

Such a beautiful hideaway, home from home. A little remote hamlet with babbling brook, fauna and flora. Loved it there

Perfect place to escape and spend time with friends and family. There was plenty of space for all of us and everything we needed was there. We played team games in the grassy area, and the zip line and trampoline were an added bonus.

A real rare and beautiful location where one can truly relax and escape from modern life for all the right reasons. The cottage, and hamlet in which it resides, offers a true opportunity to enjoy and appreciate nature, its demands and its pleasures. Our dog, and even our kids loved the retreat. If you wish to get away and escape from the modern rat race this beautiful location allows exactly that.
