Pentland Escapes - The Servants Quarters
Highland
Canisbay sits on the far north coast of Scotland, looking out towards Orkney across the Pentland Firth. The Servants Quarters occupies the first floor of a converted property here, with windows framing those seaward views. The village itself is small and quiet, though John o'Groats is nearby if you want a wider choice of shops and restaurants.
Inside, everything is on one level: a combined living and dining space with a 40-inch Smart TV, a kitchen with electric oven and hob, dishwasher, and the usual appliances for self-catering, and a bedroom with a zip-and-link bed (request twin singles if you prefer). The shower room is modern and compact. Essentials like heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are included. There's a utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer, though this is shared with other properties on-site. Parking is for one car, and there's a bike store if you arrive with bicycles. No smoking indoors.
Step outside from your private sitting area to face those views properly – the balcony is the real heart of the place. The surrounding landscape is open moorland and coastal paths; this suits anyone after quiet time in nature rather than activity-based holidays, though the quietness comes with genuine isolation if poor weather keeps you inside.
