A working farm campsite on Anglesey's wild north-west coast, 6 miles from Holyhead

About Pengraig Campsite

Pengraig sits on a working farm at Llanfairynghornwy, on Anglesey's exposed north-western tip around six miles from Holyhead. The setting is the main draw: open grass pitches with sweeping sea views, big skies and genuinely dark nights once the sun goes down, all within a short walk of the coastal path. Campers consistently praise the warm welcome from hosts and the sense of space and tranquillity, though facilities are kept deliberately simple – flushing toilets, basins and drinking water, but no showers, which keeps prices low and suits those happy with a more back-to-basics stay.

Raised barbecues are permitted and pitches accommodate up to six guests across tent, touring and motorhome areas. Church Bay, with its beach, pub and restaurant, is a five-minute drive or forty-minute coastal walk away, while a supermarket in Cemaes is fifteen minutes further on. Dogs are welcome, up to two per pitch, and the site opens late March to the end of October – a good, unfussy base for walkers and families exploring this quieter corner of Anglesey.

Perfect little basic campsite, will definitely be back 😀 just a heads up for those that have booked but haven't visited before: - take a torch/lantern to the toilet block with you as it can be quite dark in there even with the lights on. - take ear plugs as the fighter jets from the RAF base fly over frequently. - take decent tent pegs because the ground is very hard and flimsy ones will just bend!

5 star views with a gent that's gives his all to make sure your stay is the best ever. Highly recommend staying here and this has now become our favorite stay whilst camping. You'll even meet his furry dogs and for a £1 your kids are welcome on his gator for a little trip around tge field.. Within 10 mins drive you'll find church bay pub with views that will blow your mind 🥰

The location of this campsite was perfect for us. We loved the sea view and surrounding countryside which offered some nice walks. The site is quite remote which we loved. The campsite was quiet enough for us not to be disturbed. The facilities were basic but well kept and fulfilled our needs. There is no shower, but we wouldn’t have expected this to be available for the price we paid. The campsite was very good value for money (£80 for 5 nights, medium tent). All in all we really liked this campsite and this would be our first choice when looking for a campsite in Anglesey again.
