About Travelodge Holyhead
A cooked or continental breakfast is available each morning at Travelodge Holyhead, a straightforward base for anyone passing through this corner of Anglesey. Pubs, bars and restaurants sit nearby for evening meals, with a KFC close by too, so there's no shortage of options beyond the hotel's own offering.
The hotel has 54 rooms across three floors, served by a lift, with en-suite bathrooms, drinks available in the room and accessible rooms on request. Rooms are generally quiet, which makes for a decent night's sleep, though some visitors have found the water not always hot and maintenance a little patchy in places. Free on-site parking is provided, though it's limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, and there's an electric vehicle charge point for those who need one. Staff are consistently described as friendly and helpful.
Holyhead town centre and the ferry port are both within easy reach, useful for early departures or a quick walk into town. Further afield, South Stack Lighthouse and Breakwater Country Park offer a proper stretch of the legs, while golf and fishing can be arranged locally for those wanting to fill a spare afternoon.

What guests say
It was a strange experience, the room was not the cleanest, there's brown residue on the headboards, no bedside tables or sockets near or beside the bed. I wasn't too bothered as I was exhausted, the porcelain sink had been broken and glued together! There were tea and coffee making facilities which is standard. Shower was ok but slippery I have mobility issues so was difficult. The desk was not manned so I felt I couldn't ask questions, I did have some. An interesting observation was the family room had a drawless divan bed, I don't know if that facilitated storeage of the folding singles or a feature, It beats a van seat or the floor hands down and the guy checking us in seemed fine.

Surpassed my expectations and good value.. Staff very friendly and helpful on the phone and in person. It’s conveniently located for the ferry and the rooms are clean, comfortable and quiet. Also a good temperature vs other Travelodge which are always very form.

Yes, as many say, the location near the ferry is very helpful. It’s also next to Enterprise car rental and a short walk from Market St and retail shops and food. We did not have any trouble checking in. The exterior could be brighter and cleaner. The room while big and clean was spartan. There was certainly space for a decent chair in the corner. The only chair was a plastic one under the desk. There was no luggage rack and we used the desk. There is no closet and just the exposed clothing bar. The area is generally quiet but the back abuts neighbors and a car shop. They could be a bit noisy and a Saturday night proved that. The view out the rear is unpleasant. For us Americans - no AC (although not needed upon our visit) there was a small oscillating fan we sat on the window sill but no screens in the window and in order to have fresh air you need to leave the curtains open a bit. The bed was clean and comfortable. There were hand soap dispensers in the bathroom and shower but no shampoo and no wash rags. No outlets in the bathroom except for a shaver. We had two bath towels and one hand towel. We used the hand towel for the shower floor. Also, aside from the two coffee cups, there are not glasses or plastic cups. I always need one to clean my retainer over night. Outlets? Two near the desk and one for the radiator. Certainly no built in USB plugs. There is no room phone and there are no night stands. There are small notches carved out of the headboard. There isn’t a bedside clock and if you’re used to using your cell phone as a clock or alarm, then unless you want to not charge it over night, it will be on the other side of the room if you didn’t bring a 20 foot USB cable. The reading lights work but they no longer hold their upper positions to actually use for reading. The TV worked with many channels. Although the wires hanging out were unsightly. WiFi was free for 30 minutes. I then paid 7 pounds for a max of two devices over 48 hours. I added a third for 2 pounds but that was the maximum permitted. No free wifi is very unusual these days.

Lady on reception was very welcoming and friendly. Room was fine for a quick overnight stay. Just a shame there is no plug sockets near the beds. Parking is available, we were lucky to find a space easily but imagine it can fill up. Overall, happy with our stay.
