About Gledlom Farm

Tucked into peaceful Flintshire countryside near Ysceifiog, Gledlom Farm is a pop-up site that takes minimalist camping seriously – and campers love it, judging by its perfect five-star rating. Mown grass pitches spread across a level field edged by mature trees, with essential mains water and well-kept portable loos but no electric hook-ups or modern frills. That stripped-back approach preserves the field's unspoilt atmosphere and delivers unbroken rural views, dark skies brilliant with stars, and the gentle rhythm of North Wales village life.

It's ideal for walkers and cyclists, with scenic trails starting right from the site and three local pubs within reach (the nearest a 15-minute stroll). The lack of hot water won't suit everyone, but if you're after a true escape from everyday stresses – whether you're on a Duke of Edinburgh expedition, a budget adventure, or simply craving proper peace – this friendly farm feels genuinely wild without being remotely unwelcoming.

Basic at best!

Very spacious pitches, we didn't feel like we were on-top of our neighbours, comfortably fit a vehicle and tent. The site itself is well maintained, grass appears to be cut regularly, the toilet (portaloo) was clean and regularly checked and re-stocked with toilet roll and hand sanitized. The site is located in a great area with very scenic and quiet area meaning you can really take in the countryside. The owner was very friendly, he'd come round every morning and evening, checking people are having a nice stay and if there's anything he could help with. There's two small villages both a 10-15 minute walk away down a quiet country lane, both with a pub that serves food and have a welcoming atmosphere. They're also accessible by some slightly longer but more scenic walks down a bridal path (speak to the owner who can give you the route).
