What visitors say
We had a fantastic visit to Bugtopia and it wasnt the first time. Although it's a relatively small zoo, it offers a wonderful experience with plenty of free-roaming animals that make the visit feel much more interactive and unique. The animals are well cared for, and its great being able to see them up close in a natural-looking environment. The staff were incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and happy to answer questions about the animals and their habitats. Their passion and expertise really added to the experience and helped us learn a lot during our visit. Yes its warm and you can fly around but you can come in and out as much as you want during the day and you'll notice more each time. Overall, it's a great attraction for families, animal lovers, and anyone looking for a fun and educational day out. We would definitely recommend it and look forward to visiting again.

Nice couple of hours spent at Bugtopia. It is small but as the gentleman on the desk told us, the more you look the more you really do see, one walk around isn't enough, we went backwards and forwards atleast 6 times and saw something different each time. Alot of the animals are free roaming in the glasshouse which is lovely for them as they get to move around and interact with each other and act more naturally. There's a QR code you can scan which gives you a tick list of what can be seen. We had an interactive talk with Ben where we were allowed to hold a hissing cockroach, not for everyone but there's no pressure to be hands on and Ben was very knowledgeable and passionate about insects and also really good with the kids who attended. There was a civet feeding session later but we had to be getting on our way unfortunately.

Visited for about 90 mins with my three grandchildren aged 5,3 and 1 1/2. They loved the various animals including turtles, Parrots, spiders, cockroaches, snakes, stick insects and fish. The talk by one of the staff about a Madagascan Hissing Cockroaches was fantastic.

Some reviews mention the portions can be small for the price.
