Visited this center mainly for swimming. The pool itself is quite large and spacious, with a deep end of around 2 metres, which is great if you prefer deeper water. However, the pool water was noticeably cold, which made it a bit uncomfortable to stay in for long. On the positive side, the shower facilities were good, and the water was properly hot, which helped after getting out of the pool. Overall, decent size and facilities, but the pool temperature could definitely be improved.

I am writing this because (if the local Council has it's way) this building may not exist soon. It is neither photogenic, nor particularly 'luxurious' inside but it is part of Brighton's local history. The site is sprawling and, although there are only buildings encroaching on the Eastern side (currently), it is a wide building and not so easy to photograph. Parking is not great, but bus services are available. Built in 1939, it was not used for leisure until after the seconf world war.

Lovely little cockroach joined me for my gym class the other day. Some of the guys that are staffed there kinda suck I know it’s not the nicest place to work but sometimes when you talk to them about things like ‘hey- the place is kinda dirty and really smells like pee in the changing rooms’ or ‘hey just so you know I think there’s too much chlorine in the pool today it kinda burned my skin and eyes real bad’- they have a crap attitude kinda like your beneath them (this does not apply to the women working here despite it being a crummy place the gals have always been great and cordial) I really really hope someone buys this place out and makes it a good leisure centre instead of flats, but whoever has been running the place for the last ten years does not deserve to keep it :/ added a star coz still hopefully it can change

If you like your air temperature scorching, and your swimming pool temperature the absolute opposite, have i got the place for you. Even with apparent new air vent things in pool area, its always very very warm. Tbf, it's a swimming pool, the waterslide seems to work these days, the showers mostly work and I haven’t seen a cockroach in the changing rooms for a good couple of years. The building and infrastructure is very old and they're doing a decent job keeping it going until a new centre is finally approved and built. The sports halls do the job, for badminton, or roller discos, and the gym looks ok, not that ive used, as im lazy. The Staff ive spoken to have always been helpful and friendly. Its rough round the edges and looks a monstrosity in terms of architecture from outside but overall, decent.
