Tucked into its own woodland with spectacular mountain views, Inver Coille takes its name from the Scottish Gaelic for 'forest' – a fitting description for this peaceful Highlands hideaway. The site sits perfectly positioned for hikers tackling the Great Glen Way, with Invermoriston village two miles off and Fort Augustus four miles distant, all prime Nessie-spotting territory along Loch Ness's shoreline.
Modern, spotlessly clean facilities include separate showers and a well-maintained washing-up station, with filtered burn water tested by Highland Council. Cars stay in the parking area once you've unloaded (wheelbarrows available), keeping the pitches tranquil. The friendly owners offer excellent local knowledge from reception, where you can also charge devices for a few coins in the charity tin.
Campfires are welcome in this handsome setting – collect logs from the 'Highlands' smallest shop' on site. With forest walks from your tent door and the Great Glen Way nearby, it's a walkers' paradise. Dogs roam freely, and the owners' three pups often lead the welcome committee.

We stayed at the Inver Collie campsite near Loch Ness, and let me tell you—it’s lovely… if you happen to be a midge. The location is great and the facilities decent. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to enjoy much of that because we were too busy being eaten alive. Be prepared!

The best campsite that we visited on our holiday. Not only is it set in a beautiful woodland but the facilities are exceptional- clean and well maintained. The owner is fantastic. He has incredible knowledge and insight about the surrounding area and was great to talk to. A really nice campsite that we would certainly return to. Would highly recommend to anyone!

We just want to express our extreme gratitude for the wonderful staff at Inver Coille. They made what was a very stressful time for us a lot more manageable. We had an issue with our car after visiting Skye and the campsite were so supportive letting us book in last minute and pay day by day while we didn't know how long we would be. The staff were compassionate and kind towards us the whole time we were there. The falicities were clean and tidy and there was plenty to do nearby that was accessible by bus. Thank you for helping us in our time of need!! 💕🏕️🦕
