Torvean Caravan Park

Glenurquhart Rd, Inverness IV3 8JL, UK

Riverside touring park within the Inverness city boundary

About Torvean Caravan Park

Torvean Caravan Park occupies a rare niche as one of the few sites actually within Inverness, tucked beside the Caledonian Canal and River Ness on the city's southern fringe. The real draw here is convenience: a twenty-minute walk or cycle along the towpath brings you straight into the centre, making it ideal for car-free explorers or overnight stops en route to the far north. The canal-side location also appeals to anglers and walkers, with the towpath threading out towards Loch Ness in the opposite direction.

The park itself is straightforward and well-maintained rather than luxurious—expect level pitches with hook-ups, clean facilities including showers and laundry, and a motorhome service point, but no on-site frills or entertainment. It caters mainly to touring caravans and motorhomes, with a smaller tent section. While some visitors note the site can feel a little tired in places, its practicality and traffic-free city access make it a sensible base for exploring Inverness on foot.

Great campsite. Grass or hardstanding, and electric hookups available. Grey water disposal, chemical toilet empty, and fresh water available. Toilet and shower block. Helpful and friendly staff.\\n30min walk into town along the River. Right off the main road but atill quiet.

A simple campsite, easily accessible by taxi to the city – available anytime via app.\\n\\nThe sanitary facilities are okay, but dated – access requires a code.\\n\\nThe pitches are adequate, but not very spacious. However, it's recommendable for a campsite near the city.\\n\\nFriendly and helpful staff.

Great location, terrific clean and very well kept site by the two lovely wardens, Mo and Michael. Professional, friendly and very helpful people. The site is adjacent to the Caledonian canal, ideally suited for walking, cycling and great base for visiting many attractions out and about around Inverness, Fort Augustus and Loch Ness being just a short distance along the road. Brilliant place to stay for the Etape Loch Ness cycle event, with the event hub and start line within very easy reach. Thank you Mo, Michael and Torvean for a fantastic stay and we will be back.

It's always the same. People come to a city and the Camp is always busy.\\n\\nI had - after i reservated 1 week - send 5 emails and phoned 10 x without succes. My only question to them was, if they could take a parcel for me , with a spare part for the camper.\\n\\nAfter arrical at the camp their only answer was - we did not see anything, so we could not answer.\\n\\nEven when i saw the emails in their laptop!\\n\\nSo back to the camp.\\nSanitair should be renovated.\\nI could not change clothes inside the shower and everything was wet.\\n\\nDirect at the campside there is a car park with overnight for 10 £ instead of 43£
