About Heathcote B&B

Culloden Battlefield lies within easy reach for those keen on Highland history, while Inverness city centre is under two miles off, making Heathcote B&B a sensible base for exploring both without spending long in the car. The address on Glenurquhart Road puts guests close enough to walk into town or drive out to the wider sights of the Highlands.

Heathcote B&B occupies a Victorian house with just three rooms, kept simple and furnished with a mix of modern and traditional pieces. Breakfast is included, and there's a restaurant on site for evening meals, along with free WiFi and 24 hour reception for those arriving at odd hours. Luggage storage is useful for guests heading off to Culloden or into the city before checking in properly.

Free on-site parking is provided, which matters given the property sits a little outside the town centre. It suits visitors who want a quiet, small-scale base with the option of getting into Inverness on foot or driving out to the battlefield and beyond.

The staff was great and helpful. The breakfast was delicious. The location is walkable to restaurants and pubs. My only complaints are that there is not an outlet or a way to plug in a phone or laptop on both sides of the bed and the water pressure in the shower was poor. The water dial functions in a way that if you move it a tiny bit into hot and it's scalding but if you move it a tiny bit away from hot it's too cold. After a long flight and train ride to arrive at my hotel/B&B I really want a good shower, and this location was not able to provide that. That being said, I would consider staying her again, but I would bring an extension cord and plan to not shower here.

We had a great time here! Everything is so beautifully arranged. Peter was a fantastic host, always open for a chat and he gave us very good advice. The rooms are very cozy, big beds, very clean. The freshly cooked breakfast was outstanding!

Peter was such a wonderful host and made us feel so welcome. He allowed us to check-in early to drop our luggage off before exploring Inverness more. The room was so clean and comfortable, and we loved the decor and great water pressure ! The breakfast was so great as well, and it was such a pleasant experience in the dining room. This was our first time at a true bed and and breakfast and it was so fantastic. Peter also is careful about following COVID guidelines and was so accommodating. Overall a fantastic stay and we can’t wait to come back!

We've been traveling for 3 weeks and this is our favorite so far. Super-cute rooms, with really comfortable beds and decent pillows - either recently renovated or just very well looked after. It's a short walk into Inverness for dinner. Great, home cooked breakfast. If we're in the area again we'll definitely stay here for longer.
