The Old Smithy
Isle of Anglesey
The Old Smithy stands in Llanfaes, a quiet hamlet on the Isle of Anglesey with views toward the Menai Strait. A mile away, Beaumaris offers everything from a moated castle to a working waterfront lined with restaurants and shops. The village itself is small and sheltered, with the coastline within easy reach.
This converted smithy retains period character—original beams, exposed stonework and a vast inglenook fireplace dominate the main living space—yet delivers modern comfort. Three bedrooms across two floors sleep up to eight people: the ground floor holds one with an en-suite, while upstairs are two more, one with a pull-out single for children. All three bathrooms come with proper showers. The kitchen is properly equipped for actual cooking, with a solid cooker and full appliances; a sun room and utility space add practical room. Wi-Fi, bed linen and heating are included. The enclosed garden catches sun all day and has a barbecue and seating. One well-behaved dog stays free. Smoking is not permitted inside.
The cottage suits families or groups wanting a genuine base for exploring the island, with enough space that people don't live on top of one another.
