One pet stays free at The Grain Store, a converted farm building on the outskirts of Wroxall, a few miles north of Ventnor on the Isle of Wight. The property sleeps 4 across two bedrooms—a king and a twin—with one bathroom, all on the ground floor. Bi-fold doors open from the open-plan living space onto an enclosed rear garden.

The kitchen has an electric oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge-freezer for self-catering. You get electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi included. There is parking for two cars on site. A travel cot and highchair are available if needed. The setting suits walkers and cyclists: the property sits near the Red Squirrel Trail and has easy access to the footpaths and bridleways that cross the countryside around the village. The coastal landscape of the southern tip of the island, designated an Area of Natural Beauty, is within reach for day trips.

No smoking indoors. Check-in is after 15:00 and check-out before 09:00.

A really nice place to stay. Located in Wroxall, it’s pretty close to Shanklin and Ventnor. You’re on a working farm, so horses are about, which was nice to see. The property has been done up to a high spec. Plenty of room in the bedrooms, and having a downstairs toilet was an added bonus. The kitchen had a dishwasher for use, which was good, and the oven worked well for the one night we grabbed a pizza and cooked. The farm has its own access to the cycle path, which was easy to follow and was a nice walk. The only downside was the property needed a bit more of a deep clean. Quite a few spider webs were in the property when we arrived, and flies were a problem. Even the fly spray didn’t really work. On the flip side, when we did have a problem with the shower, it was fixed quickly, which was good. There’s parking on site and easily by the property, so that’s good. Overall, the stay was really nice, had everything we needed it for, just need a bit of a deeper clean.
