Ventnor sits on the Isle of Wight's south coast, where downland meets the sea and footpaths crisscross the countryside. The Hayloft is a converted Grade II listed building at Cooks Castle Farm, a working equestrian centre about three miles north of the town. You get a whole property to yourselves: two bedrooms (one king, one twin), one bathroom with shower, and a ground-floor living space that opens onto a private enclosed garden. The location puts you within reach of the southern tip of the island and its network of walking and cycling routes.
Downstairs is an open-plan kitchen, dining and living area with a Smart TV and French doors leading to the garden. Essentials are covered: electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wifi are included, and there's parking for two cars on site. Upstairs, the master bedroom overlooks the farm's rural surroundings; the twin room has two single beds. One pet can stay free. The property suits families and couples after a base for coastal and countryside exploration, though note there are steps into the garden and a few steps up to the entrance itself.

A really nice place to stay. Located in Wroxall, it’s pretty close to Shanklin and Ventnor. You’re on a working farm, so horses are about, which was nice to see. The property has been done up to a high spec. Plenty of room in the bedrooms, and having a downstairs toilet was an added bonus. The kitchen had a dishwasher for use, which was good, and the oven worked well for the one night we grabbed a pizza and cooked. The farm has its own access to the cycle path, which was easy to follow and was a nice walk. The only downside was the property needed a bit more of a deep clean. Quite a few spider webs were in the property when we arrived, and flies were a problem. Even the fly spray didn’t really work. On the flip side, when we did have a problem with the shower, it was fixed quickly, which was good. There’s parking on site and easily by the property, so that’s good. Overall, the stay was really nice, had everything we needed it for, just need a bit of a deeper clean.
