View on Google MapsPhoto: DRIFTWOOD BEACH BAR
Driftwood is a ground-floor bungalow sleeping four, with a double bedroom, twin room, and shower room all on one level. The kitchen has an electric oven and gas hob for proper cooking, and there's a separate dining room and living area with a smart TV. Bed linen, towels, heating and Wi-Fi are included; you'll find on-site parking for two cars and a small enclosed garden with patio furniture.
The property sits half a mile from Godshill village centre, where a medieval church crowns the hilltop and the main street holds pubs, tea rooms, gift shops and a model village. Walking routes start nearby and fan out across the island's countryside. Ventnor and Shanklin's beaches and seafront gardens are about 15 minutes by car, as is Newport with its leisure centre and theatre. The Isle of Wight attracts cyclists for its bridleways and converted railway-line tracks, and there's horse riding, fishing and water sports available across the island. No smoking inside.

What guests say
I would advise against visiting unless you are prepared for slow service and an unpleasant atmosphere. I visited the bar every evening and was repeatedly ignored despite other patrons approaching my car. I eventually left after being ignored for too long. My wife had already arrived from the outside area and was also leaving due to the overpowering cannabis smell. We departed dissatisfied with the service and environment.

A wonderful place to go for an early evening meal. Food was lovely…the view over the sea was amazing. Very friendly staff

Visited for lunch. The food was very good and the staff was friendly. The prices were a little more expensive but then being a tourist spot is to be expected. Good spot to sit and enjoy the views while having a meal and a drink. Would recommend this spot as a place to relax.

Fantastic selection of cocktails and a brilliant vibe and decor. You could really imagine you were in the Caribbean on a hot, sunny day. We didn't eat but I did have serious food-envy from some of the dishes I saw other customers eating. Including one couple who appear to be overwhelmed by a mouthwatering-looking Smokehouse Platter. A lovely place to spend a few hours relaxing and admiring the views.
