Lavender Cottage
Isle of Wight

Newport sits at the heart of the Isle of Wight, and Lavender Cottage puts you within walking distance of the village centre. A church dating to the 12th century stands opposite, and the Arreton Valley spreads out around you with footpaths and cycle routes threading through it. The cottage itself is traditional, refurbished but keeping original features like exposed beams and a fireplace. Three bedrooms sleep five: two doubles upstairs (one with its own toilet), a single downstairs, and a family bathroom with a bath and shower. The ground floor is open-plan, with the kitchen equipped for proper cooking and the living space centred on a woodburner.
Essentials like electricity, bed linen, towels and wi-fi are covered. You have an enclosed garden with patio furniture and a dedicated parking space on site. One dog is welcome. The location gives you quick access to Brading Downs for walks, and within a few miles are beaches, castles and villages across the island; Osborne House, Queen Victoria's retreat, is within easy reach. The pub and shop are barely a mile away, the former just a minute's walk.

What guests say
Wonderful stay at Lavender Cottage. Cosy and characterful, but extremely comfortable and well equipped. Garden was charming and peaceful. Very easy to park nearby. It's a brilliant location from which to explore the island. Ate in The White Lion, which was lovely home cooked food. Also used the cafe and farm shop nearby (Harvey Browns). Exceptional quality ready meals made self catering super easy and a real treat. Very happy to recommend Lavender Cottage and would like to thank Nick and the other staff who made us so welcome.
