Sandrock

Isle of Wight

View on Google Maps

Sandrock is a detached house built to accommodate families comfortably. Three bedrooms—one with a king-size bed, two with singles—and a bathroom on the first floor are paired with a separate toilet downstairs. The ground floor opens onto a lawned garden through patio doors, with a conservatory adding extra space. One dog stays free. The kitchen has an electric oven, gas hob, dishwasher and other essentials for self-catering; there's also a cot and highchair if needed. Wi-Fi, heating, electricity, bed linen and towels are all included.

Positioned on a quiet rural lane between Sandown and Knighton Gorges, the property overlooks countryside and fields from the garden. The enclosed lawn has seating and a barbecue, and there's parking for three cars on site, plus an electric charging point and bike store. No smoking indoors.

This part of the island suits walkers and cyclists particularly well. Footpaths from the house connect to Heritage coast routes and join the Tennyson Trail heading towards Tennyson Down; West High Down and Headon Warren offer other established walks. The 60-mile Round the Island cycle route passes through the nearby village. Compton Bay's sandy beach is a ten-minute drive away, and the area offers sailing, fishing, golf and watersports. Sandown town centre, with its shops, pub and restaurant, is roughly half a mile away.
