Newtown Nature Reserve lies within easy reach, and Newport's shops and facilities are a short drive away. The Isle of Wight's coastal paths and beaches are readily accessible for days out, while quieter exploration on foot starts from the gate. Southview itself occupies a rural position on the edge of agricultural fields, with the Newtown wetlands to the west—genuinely useful if you want to get away from busier holiday spots.
A 16th-century stone cottage, completely renovated, it has two double bedrooms (each convertible to singles), one bathroom, and a ground-floor living and dining space with a woodburner, wooden flooring and space for four around the table. The kitchen has an electric cooker, microwave and washing machine. Essentials like electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wifi are included. One car can park on site; a second can be accommodated if needed. An enclosed garden with patio and barbecue is secure for dogs, who stay free. A cot, highchair and stairgate are available if required.
The property does not permit smoking. It suits families, couples and those with a dog looking for a quiet base from which to explore the island.
