Cineworld Newport - Isle of Wight

Visited for the first time today. A very easy process to purchase tickets (online) was followed by a friendly member of staff to show us to our screen. Screen was clean along with crisp picture and sound. The parking outside is odd as it's a maximum of 3 hours (not good if you're watching Avatar or Endgame......) but I don't think this is a direction, or owned by, the cinema. Would happily visit again when we're back on the island.

I was extremely disappointed with my recent visit. I was charged £79 for tickets a drink each to watch Toy Story 5, which I find completely unreasonable. The staff member who served me did not mention that a family ticket would have been a cheaper option. Instead, I was charged for two adults and two children, despite us clearly being a family of four just trying to enjoy a nice evening out. After listen to other family’s complaining about price in the screen, I then went out to question this after the film, I was told that I needed to specifically ask for a “family of 4” ticket. This was never explained at the time of purchase, and it feels unfair to expect customers to know this without being informed. Overall, this experience left a very negative impression. I feel misled and overcharged, and unfortunately, I won’t be returning if this is how customers are treated. Will be only watching films at ryde cinema Isle of Wight so much more worth the money. The lady couldn’t even refunded me some of the money back.

honestly this is the inly good cinema in isle of wight, and i understand that there is no competition, but i believe the prices are a little bit expensive. they could be cheaper for the service provided. the staff is friendly tho and the food and snacks are at a good price. however there are other cinemas like on the mainland which provide much better service for a lower price.

Im really disappointed with this cineworld, and will probably be just going to the ryde cinema now. Me and my bf would go all the time for example last week to watch 15s, 18s films. Decided to take my brother to backrooms which is a 15 as i watched it the day before and thought he might enjoy, suddently got asked for ID? Never have before! I had to get a refund.. We took the bus and got food aswell so about 20 quid gone. I know its a rule, but clearly they dont follow it as they should so this caught me of guard. Im more upset they always let me in but not my brother suddently. Prob new staff. dispite me being over 18 with proof and him clearly older just without. Just wish they was this firm with the rules to begin with! Imo if your going to ask because we look young you should also ask others who don't. People can look old and be 12, others can look young and be in there 20s.
