Seaview's waterfront location on the Isle of Wight means the sea is essentially on your doorstep at The Boathouse. This ground-floor cottage occupies what was once a coastguard boathouse where lifeboats were stored, and the setting still feels tied to that maritime past—a public slipway runs just 20 yards away, and walks along the esplanade start right outside. The Puckpool play area is nearby for families, and major attractions like The Needles, Blackgang Chine and Ventnor Botanical Gardens are all within reach.

The property holds four people across two bedrooms and two bathrooms, all on one level. A large open-plan living and dining space with exposed beams and high ceilings opens onto an enclosed lawned garden through patio doors; the first bedroom has a kingsize bed and en-suite, while the second offers two singles with a separate shower room. The kitchen is equipped for self-catering with electric oven and hob, dishwasher, fridge-freezer and washing machine. Wi-Fi, electricity, bed linen and towels are included. One car can park on site, and one small dog is welcome. No smoking.

Great service. Great food. And well kept beer. Soup, pie&veg, all food was excellent. A nice, raised patio area with amazing views across to Portsmouth. Very well decorated inside with lots of wood making a warm, inviting place to eat.

Came across this absolute treasure of a place as we were very early for our ferry, The place has been newly decorated and it’s beautiful clipped and rustic all mixed up, servise was lovely, friendly server with a lovely smile and presences. Food was amazing. Pie was superb and green bright fresh and well cooked. The lamb was amazing too. We will definitely be back as hopefully when we can spend more time. Well Done really lovely spot x Kate and Rob

Had a really lovely meal at the Boathouse - 2 had the excellent butternut squash & lentil wellington, 1 pie & 1 fish curry - all delicious, followed by very good desserts (crumble, cheesecake & creme brulee). Everything was extremely well presented, high quality & well thought out. Comfortable seating in nicely furnished bar. Recommended.

So impressed with the service. Extremely friendly, attentive. Lovely atmosphere with roaring fire and great background music. We had mussels chips and garlic bread. Juicy mussels cooked to perfection and served with a finger bowl too. I am a local and I have been so impressed with this place. The food has always been top notch since we first came here. Thank you!!!!

Diners like this pub's delicious and high-quality food, especially the fish and chips, pies, and Sunday roast, with many vegan and allergy-friendly options. They also highlight the friendly and attentive staff, the warm and inviting atmosphere, and the stunning sea views.

Some reviews mention the service can be slow.
